I would classify these cupcakes as the world's... pinkest-looking cupcakes. Don't they look so pink and adorable and cute? And these aren't even iced yet! You need to see the insides too because they're so marble-y and cute-looking:
They look like a lot of work, no?
Well, good news peeps. They're not! And all that is thanks to my good friend, Mrs Crocker.
Betty made my life a whole lot easier as you can see. All you have to do is follow the directions on the boxes, making them in separate bowls of course. Line your muffin tin with pattypans, then starting with the chocolate, put a spoonful of batter in each pattypan.
Then in the oven they went. I baked them at 180C for about 20 minutes.
They rose up a bit higher than I had hoped they would, though - they ended up like mountain-peaks. I was envisioning plateaus instead.
But that's okay, because I liked how they turned out.
I was hoping they'd be two distinct layers but I ended up with the marbled look instead. I think I
liked it better this way though!
I followed this recipe pretty much word-for-word, except for the cream cheese frosting bit. I just used the frosting that came in the cake mix box and it worked a treat!
